Yes. Midas works to prepare talented players for opportunities within the Nigerian football system, including professional and semi-professional clubs.
Players may receive opportunities through scouting events, trials, tournaments, recommendations, relationships within football and direct assessment by clubs.
However, joining Midas does not guarantee that a player will be signed by an NPFL, NNL or any other professional club. Progression depends on the player’s ability, performance, discipline, development, age/eligibility, documentation and the needs of interested clubs.
Our responsibility is to develop players and help qualified players become better prepared when legitimate opportunities arise.

International exposure is part of our long-term football-development pathway.
Midas has a history of participation in international football environments and continues to build relationships that can create legitimate opportunities for talented players.
Opportunities may include international tournaments, scouting, trials, referrals or relationships with clubs, academies, scouts and licensed football professionals.
However, Midas does not guarantee European contracts, visas, trials or transfers simply because a player registers with the Academy.
International opportunities are based on merit, eligibility, documentation, the requirements of the receiving organization and the availability of genuine opportunities.
Money does not buy selection or a professional football opportunity at Midas.
Where a legitimate international tournament, trial, camp or other opportunity becomes available, selected players may sometimes be responsible for some or all costs associated with travel, passports, visas, accommodation, insurance or participation.
However, a player’s ability to pay does not automatically qualify the player for selection.
Midas will not represent payment as a guarantee of a professional contract, European trial or transfer.
Yes.
Midas players participate in selected local matches, academy competitions, scouting events, trials, friendly matches and tournaments when opportunities are available and appropriate for player development.
Midas also creates and participates in football-development events designed to give players competitive experience and greater exposure.
Tournament participation is based on the coach’s assessment, age/category requirements, player readiness, registration status and competition rules.
Not automatically.
Most competitive opportunities involving Midas are primarily intended for players who have been assessed, trained and prepared within our programme.
From time to time, Midas may announce open trials, free clinics, scouting programmes or special recruitment opportunities that are available to non-registered players.
These opportunities will be announced separately through our official platforms.
Paying to join the Academy does not automatically guarantee selection for every tournament or scouting event.
International youth tournament participation remains part of Midas’s development vision.
Midas has previously participated in international football tournaments and intends to continue exploring credible opportunities for players to compete and gain exposure internationally.
Participation in any future international tournament will depend on factors including funding, tournament eligibility, player age categories, invitations/registration, travel requirements, visas, sponsorship and team readiness.
International tournament participation should therefore be regarded as an opportunity Midas actively explores—not an annual guarantee.
There is no fixed number of months or years that guarantees a professional contract.
Every player’s development is different.
Progress depends on factors including:
Current football ability
Age and stage of development
Physical development
Tactical understanding
Position
Attitude and discipline
Training consistency
Match performance
Documentation and eligibility
Available scouting opportunities
Club requirements
Timing
Some players may progress quickly. Others require several years of development.
Midas does not promise a professional contract within a specific period. We focus on helping each player become better prepared for the next appropriate opportunity.
Selected matches, training sessions, tournaments and scouting events may be photographed, filmed or documented for player development, Academy media and exposure purposes.
However, not every match is currently professionally recorded or livestreamed.
Midas is strengthening its media and player-development systems with the goal of improving match documentation, player footage, performance analysis and responsible exposure.
Players should understand that being filmed does not guarantee that a scout or club will view or select them.
Yes. A 19-year-old player may apply and be assessed.
Admission and development opportunities depend on the player’s ability, objectives, physical condition and suitability for the programme.
Players must provide their true and accurate age and identity documents.
Midas Football Academy Foundation does not support age falsification. Some youth tournaments, trials and scouting opportunities have strict age requirements, and false documentation can damage a player’s career and the reputation of the Academy.
Players who are above a particular youth-category age may still train or pursue appropriate senior football opportunities, but they may not qualify for age-restricted competitions.
Earlier structured development generally gives players more time to improve technically, physically, tactically and mentally.
However, Midas assesses players individually rather than promising opportunity based solely on age.
Older players should understand that the pathway becomes increasingly competitive and that professional opportunities depend heavily on demonstrated ability and readiness.
Midas currently trains at:
San Siro Football Ground, Ikola–Ipaja, Lagos
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
6:00 AM prompt
Players considering registration should carefully consider whether they can consistently meet this schedule before completing payment.
Regular attendance and punctuality are important parts of player development.
Players are responsible for determining whether they can consistently attend training.
For players coming from outside Lagos, limited optional accommodation assistance may be available separately, subject to availability and prior approval.
Accommodation is not automatically included with Academy admission.
Players and parents must confirm accommodation arrangements with Midas before traveling to Lagos.
Do not travel to Lagos assuming accommodation has been arranged unless you have received confirmation from the Academy.
Kindly reach out to our Director of Football, Mr. Emeka on 08022595194 regarding accommodation. This is because we are working on the academy permanent home.
No.
The admission/development fee provides access to the Academy’s structured development programme.
It does not purchase:
A professional contract
A European trial
A visa
Tournament selection
Scout selection
Club placement
International travel
Football opportunities are earned through development, performance, discipline, readiness and legitimate football relationships.
We expect players to demonstrate:
Discipline
Consistent attendance
Punctuality
Respect for coaches and teammates
Commitment to improvement
Honesty regarding age and documentation
Professional behavior
Willingness to learn
Patience with the development process
Talent is important, but talent without discipline and consistency is rarely enough.
This is one of the reasons Midas Football Academy became Midas Football Academy Foundation.
Our vision is built around three pathways:
Preparing qualified players for opportunities within professional football.
Helping players understand educational, scholarship and academic pathways connected to their development.
Helping young people prepare for employable skills, entrepreneurship and productive careers outside professional football.
We believe not every player will go professional—but the journey should still prepare every player for a successful future.
As professional football can be a relatively short career players need to be at their best abilities at all times in order for them to be recognized and not replaced by other players at youth level. This requires focus and not being distracted by the surrounding environment. To stay at the top of your game you need to work hard on a daily basis and improve on all aspects of your game. This requires learning new things and new ways of training in order to improve yourself physically and mentally.
